A stitch in time saves nine.

As temperatures drop and flu season is in full force, Sunset Shores Adult Day Care Center encourages residents, staff, and the community to get their flu shots if they have not already, this season.

“It is that time of year! Protect yourself and family this year by getting a flu shot. We highly encourage you to do so to remain healthy and well during the cold season, especially one that is accompanied by COVID-19,” stated a Sunset Shore representative on their Facebook page. It is considered preventative care that most insurances cover. Also, Flu shots are free in many places. Here’s a list of where you can go locally: Walgreens, CVS, PhysicianOne Urgent Care, DOCS Urgent Care, MedExpress Urgent, and your Primary Care Doctor.

In addition, many other urgent care centers and walk-in clinics are offering flu shots. Due to the current health situation, check first online or by calling ahead to see if you need to book a time slot. Some facilities are requiring this as to limit the amount of people gathering at once.“Let’s all stay safe and healthy together!” stated Sunset Shores.
